Dagala Thousands lake Trek of 8 nights and 9 Days trek will take you into an area adorned with a multitude of pristine, crystal clear lakes during you trek. As you walk amidst the shimmering lakes you’ll be treated to stunning views of the entire Himalayan mountain range and some of the world’s highest peaks including Mt. Everest, Jomolhari, Masang Gang, Jichu Drake, Gangche Ta and many more mountains you come across.

On your trekking, an entire day you will be dedicated visiting some of the more picturesque lakes, fishing and resting. The trail also takes you through several Bhutanese villages so you can get a good idea of traditional Bhutanese village life as you make your way back from the lakes.

Day 1: Arrival at Paro– Thimphu (cultural sightseeing)

Our representative your guide and driver will greeting at Paro International airport and drive to Thimphu. After lunch explore Thimphu city.

  • On way visit Tamchog Lhakhang to see one of the oldest Iron Chain Bridge from 15th century. Later once we reach Thimphu we will check in to the hotel first.
  • National Memorial Chorten, it was built in 1974 by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden in memory of her son, Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck.
  • Buddha Point, facing Thimphu valley down bellow is the worlds’ largest and tallest Buddha statue standing at the height of 169 feet (52m). From here one can have a 360 degree view of Thimphu valley.

Day 2: Thimphu – Genekha – Gur

  • After breakfast start day with trekking walking distance 7 km time cover 5 hours, drive to Genekha from where our trek begins. From here we will descent down to the stream and after crossing the stream, trail then ascends till we reach our campsite located at Gur, above a pasture land for yaks.

Day 3: Gur – Labatama

  • After breakfast continue with trekking walking distance 12 km time coverage 5 hours, the trail will lead us through a lush meadows and rich mountain vegetation, treating with wonderful views and spectacular view of Mt. Kangchenjunga (8586m) the third highest mountain in the world, sitting in between Nepal and India border. From this pass we will descend down crossing through numbers of yak herder camps before reaching our campsite located just next to Lake Uthso.

Day 4: Halt at Labatama

  • After breakfast continue to the day for exploring around Labatama areas and take short excursion to nearby 3 Lakes.

Day 5: Labatama – Panka

After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 8 km time cover 4 hours

  • Today we will trek alongside Lake Dala and ascend till the peak (4520m) from where we will have a wonderful view of world’s tallest mountain, Everest (8848m) located in Nepal. From here the trail slowly descends till we reach our next stopover at Panka.

Day 6: Panka – Talakha

  • After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 9 km time cover 5 hours, after crossing numbers of passes reach Talakha monastery, where we will stop for our night. Few monks reside here at this Goemba. You can have a wonderful view of Thimphu valley from here.

Day 7: Talakha – Chamgang – Paro Town

After breakfast continue trekking with walking distance 6 km time cover 4hours, descend down to Chamgang village and then to road point where your driver and car will be waiting. From here, drive towards Paro:

  • National Museum, the dzong was built in the mid-17th century as a watchtower overlooking Rinpung Dzong by Lanyongpa Tenzin Drukdra and Chogyal Migyur Tenpa. The circular dzong houses the National Museum of Bhutan.
  • Paro Dzong, Paro Dzong,was built in 1644 under the command of Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. It is one of the most beautiful and historically important dzongs in the country.

Day 8: Explore Paro to Taktsang (Tiger Nest)

After breakfast hike to Taktsang so called as tiger nest by another name.

  • Visit Drukgyel Dzong (in ruins); it was built in 1649 to commemorate the victory of Bhutanese over allied Tibetan forces. The Dzong as a defenses fortress is said to have housed the finest armory in the country.
  • Kichu Lhakhang, the temple is one of the two among 108 temples built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century to subdue a demon that lay supine across Tibet and Bhutan.

Day 9: Paro Departure

After Breakfast your guide and driver will see you off till Paro International Airport your onward flights.
