Day 1: Arrival at Paro international airport – Explore Paro

After landing, guide and driver from Charisma Bhutan Tours & Treks will pick you up from Paro international airport.

• Ta Dzong, the dzong was built in the mid-17th century as a watchtower overlooking Rinpung Dzong by Lanyongpa Tenzin Drukdra and Chogyal Migyur Tenpa. The circular Dzong houses the National Museum of Bhutan.
• Kichu Lhakhang, the temple is one of the two among 108 temples built by Tibetan King Songtsen Gampo in the 7th century to subdue a demon that lay supine across Tibet and Bhutan.

Day 2: Thimphu – Paro- Hike to Taktsang Monastery

After an early breakfast drive towards Paro Taktsang base from Thimphu.

• Taktsang monastery, history tells that, on this very cliff where the monastery stands today, Guru Rimpoche, the great Buddhist saint flew from Kurtoe Singye Dzong (located in eastern Bhutan) on a back of Tigress to subdue the demon who was opposing him from spreading Buddhism in Bhutan.
• Visit the Drukgyal Dzong built in 1647, by the Great Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal.

• Kichu Lhakhang built in 659 A.D among 108 temples built by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo.

Day 3: Witnessing Paro Tshechu – Drive to Thimphu

After breakfast we will visit to Paro Rinpung Dzong, the venue of Paro Tshechu. Like any other festival in Bhutan, mask dances known as Cham in local languages are the main event of Paro Tshechu. Native folk dances are also performed during the festival.

During this festival, one will enjoy a spectacular view of Bhutanese culture being displayed by the Tshechu viewers, women Bhutanese national dress (Gho for men and Kira for women).

Day 4: Explore Thimphu – Evening Drive to Punakha

After breakfast drive towards capital city of Bhutan. Once reach at Thimphu explore following sites:

• Memorial Chorten, it was built in 1974 by Her Majesty the Queen Mother Ashi Phuntsho Choden in memory of her son, Third King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. The Chorten is today the spiritual nerve centre of the city.
• Buddha Statue, facing Thimphu valley down below is the worlds’ largest and tallest Buddha statue standing at the height of 169 feet (52m).
• Textile museum, it was established in the year 2001. The museum contains Bhutanese textiles, arts, crafts and more importantly the royal collections.
• Tashicho Dzong View, Tashicho Dzong was built in 1641 by Zhabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and enlarged in 1694 by Gyalse Tenzin Rabgay. Today, the dzong is the seat of the central government, His Majesty the King’s office, and the summer residence of the Central Monastic Body.

Day 5 : Punakha sightseeing- drive Paro

After breakfast, drive to Punakha & Wangdue through Dochula Pass 3140 m. In the clear spring sky, you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Himalayan Mountain ranges. .

• Dochula pass, the beautiful 108 chortens built on the hill by Her Majesty Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck (Queen Mother of Bhutan) for the security and well being of His Majesty, the King of Bhutan.

• On the way, stop for lunch at Metsina village and then visit the Devine Madman’s Monastery-Chhimi Lhakhang, famously known for its fertility shrine, where one can receive a special fertility blessing.

• Then visit the Punakha Dzong, located on the island of the Pho – Chu (male river) and the Mochu (female river).

•  Khamsum Yuelley Namgyal Lhakhang (temple) built by Ashi Tshering Yangdon Wangchuck (the Queen Mother of Bhutan) for peace and stability in this ever-changing world. This temple is situated on the hilltop overlooking the valley below.

Day 6: Departure

After breakfast, guide and driver will see you off at Paro international airport for your onward destination.

• Transportation in comfortable vehicles with experienced driver – (SUV cars of Toyota and Hyundai up to 4 persons, for more than 5 persons Toyota Mini bus and in Toyota coaster bus more than 9 persons).
